Tobacco Prevention & Education

Nicotine education and prevention programs to reduce nicotine use and improve health.

About the Tobacco Prevention and Education Program (TPEP)
Launched in 1997, Oregon’s Tobacco Prevention and Education Program (TPEP) aims to reduce tobacco-related illnesses and deaths. Through comprehensive programs and partnerships, TPEP has contributed to saving lives and reducing healthcare costs. Despite these efforts, tobacco remains Oregon's leading preventable cause of death, with nearly 7,000 lives lost annually and over $2.5 billion in medical expenses and productivity losses.
